Former Airbnb Employee and Serial Entrepreneur Launch MeetAndy, Transforming Software Development

Communication between non-technical users and engineers has long been a challenge in the tech industry. This disconnect can lead to inefficiencies, delays, and frustration.

MeetAndy, a Taiwanese startup founded in 2024 by Liang-Bin Hsueh and Chih-Wei Yeh, is addressing this issue by using AI to make it easier for non-technical people to communicate their ideas and convert them into actionable code.

The Persistent Problem of Miscommunication

In the tech world, non-technical team members, such as marketers, managers, or product designers, often find it difficult to express their ideas in a way that engineers can act upon. This miscommunication can lead to confusion, wasted time, and errors. MeetAndy is designed to mitigate this issue by providing a tool that converts plain-language descriptions of ideas into clear instructions for engineers.

According to Liang-Bin Hsueh, MeetAndy's co-founder, "We solve communication problems." Rather than spending time explaining concepts or waiting for engineers to interpret requests, MeetAndy AI allows users to describe their ideas in simple language, which the AI then translates into technical specifications.

After university, Liang-Bin Hsueh started a company in the U.S. and later became a director at KKBOX, a popular music streaming company in Taiwan. He is also the co-founder of Infuse AI, a leading MLOps service provider, and the ticketing platform KKTIX, which is a full-service ticketing platform under KKBOX. However, Liang-Bin wanted to create something more meaningful in Taiwan's tech scene.

Chih-Wei Yeh, who worked at Expedia and later at Airbnb, recognized the potential for AI to streamline processes. A key moment came during his time at Airbnb when he realized how inefficient tasks like performance reviews could be, particularly when working in a non-native language. This insight led him to explore AI as a way to simplify complex tasks.

Together, they created MeetAndy AI with the goal of improving communication in product development.

Simplifying Technical Development for Everyone

MeetAndy AI aims to simplify the technical process of product development. For example, if a non-technical user needs a new feature for a website—such as a button that opens a form when clicked—they can simply describe the feature in plain language. The AI then translates this request into instructions engineers can follow directly.

Liang-Bin Hsueh explains "Andy takes user input and turns it into code instructions, so developers don’t have to spend time clarifying requests. This can reduce errors and speed up the development process."

For engineers, the benefit is clear: less time spent interpreting vague requests, and more time spent building the actual product.

Why are AI Tools are Crucial in Today’s Tech Landscape?

The increasing use of AI in software development is changing how products are built. AI tools are helping engineers generate code faster and reduce human errors. However, one challenge remains: how to make these tools accessible to people without coding expertise.

MeetAndy AI addresses this issue by allowing users, regardless of technical skill, to leverage AI for product development. "We’re giving people the ability to express their ideas without needing to understand the technical details," says Chih-Wei Yeh. "It's about enabling those who traditionally haven't had access to coding tools."

MeetAndy’s pricing is structured to make the platform accessible to businesses of different sizes. The basic plan costs $20 per user per month, and the pro version is priced at $50 per user per month.

Looking ahead, the founders of MeetAndy see AI as a transformative tool for the entire tech industry. "We aim to redefine what Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) can do," says Chih-Wei Yeh. "We want to create a tool that anyone can use, no matter their technical background. The goal is for people to play a more active role in the development process, not just rely on engineers."

MeetAndy’s solution to improving communication between non-technical users and engineers could change the way products are built. By cutting down on confusion and making processes more efficient, it helps teams collaborate more effectively, whether working on small features or large software projects. As AI becomes more integrated into product development, tools like Andy may help shape how teams collaborate in the future.
