CRITERIA TO WORK IN TAIWAN
HOW TO STAY IN TAIWAN
Visa Exemption or Visitor Visa : Apply online or in-person. Valid for 14-90 days depending on nationality. Check your requirements before traveling.
Employment-Seeking Visa : Apply online or in-person. Submit a visitor visa application and include the relevant documents from the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) website for more information. Valid for six months.
Work Permit Application : Apply online or in-person through the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) of the Ministry of Labor. Requires a job contract, valid for 1-3 years depending on review.
Taiwan Employment Gold Card : Apply online for a (4-in-1) card that includes a resident visa, work permit, Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), and re-entry permit, which allows you to leave and re-enter Taiwan multiple times over the course of 1-3 years. Doctorate graduates from top 500 universities are automatically eligible. Applicants can apply online without sponsorship.
Permanent Residency (APRC) : Apply in person based on individual reviews. A foreigner who has legally resided in Taiwan for 3-5 years, for more than 183 days each year will be eligible to apply for APRC.
