Since the first-ever crowdfunding platform Zeczec was founded in 2012, more than 7,000 projects have generated over ten billion Taiwanese dollars, which is equivalent to 300 million U.S. dollars. Emphasizing creativity and originality, the crowdfunding platform had over 60% of pledged money going to projects featuring original creations such as the world’s first palm-sized laser engraver provider Cubiio.
As Taiwan’s first crowdfunding platform, Zeczec marked its milestone by pledging over $300 million altogether for 7,000 projects. Quake Hsu, the co-founder of Zeczec, emphasized the platform's unwavering commitment to three key pillars: fostering genuine originality, celebrating the richness of Taiwanese cultures, and catalyzing local industries.
“We not only contribute to these three core values in the last decade, but also we would like to level up and speed up market validation for original creativity,” said Hsu. Taking this commitment a step further, Zeczec is launching a subsidiary to directly invest in innovative and original ideas. This strategic move not only underscores the platform’s dedication to nurturing early-stage creativity but also equips budding ideas with the necessary resources and support, aiding them in their growth journey.

In the dynamic world of crowdfunding, Zeczec has emerged as a formidable force, not just within Taiwan but on the global stage as well. While platforms like Indiegogo, Kickstarter, and Japan's Campfire have long been recognized names in the crowdfunding universe, Zeczec's commitment to fostering creativity and originality sets it apart.
The platform has pledged over US$300 million within a decade and boasts a success rate of over 78% for its crowdfunding projects. This high success rate is a testament to its dedication to innovation and its deep-seated belief in the potential of original ideas. While the global crowdfunding giant Kickstarter has seen more than 70 billion dollars pledged and a 39.4% success rate, Japan’s crowdfunding platform, Campfire, has a total pledged amount of over 500 million and a success rate of 26% for projects reaching their funding goals. Indiegogo, which doesn’t disclose its total funded amount, has a success rate of only 9%. The combination of its user-centric approach, robust infrastructure, and keen market insights makes Zeczec a promising contender in the future of crowdfunding.
As Zeczec gears up to challenge the giants in the crowdfunding realm, the company has set ambitious targets for itself. Determined to grow both rapidly and strategically, Zeczec has embarked on an audacious journey to amass its next US$300 million within a span of just three years, targeting 2026. To speed up its crowdfunding pace, Zeczec adopts a strategy of selecting and marketing projects with strong cultural roots.

Throughout its journey, Zeczec has been instrumental in propelling numerous products from different industries into the spotlight. The platform's impressive success stories speak to its efficacy and impact. Notably, Hiding Tou, marked one of the most supported projects on the platform, has produced the “national beverage cup”. With an initial goal of NT$ 1,000,000, the campaign amassed an astonishing NT$ 38,289,487 from 31,089 supporters, indicating the vast potential and appeal of native Taiwanese products.
Furthermore, Yuan-Liou Publishing, the renowned publishing house, has successfully utilized Zeczec to rejuvenate and reintroduce a series of novels by the legendary Chinese writer Jin Yong, whose works have garnered sales of over 300 million copies globally. In a similar vein, the celebrated “Agatha Christie: The Queen of Crime”, has also been freshly relaunched on the platform.
Traditional Taiwanese industries are witnessing an evolution of business models, with individuals leveraging the platform to foster collaborations, as seen in a collaboration melding 80 years of traditional Japanese craftsmanship with Taiwanese design. This fusion culminated in products that blend Taiwan's innovative designs with Japan's impeccable manufacturing standards.
Moreover, Zeczec extends its reach beyond Taiwan's shores, inviting international talents and brilliant ideas to the island. The platform successfully funded over 1,400 cultural content projects. An English illustrator Tom Parker, through the platform's support, was able to complete his illustrative masterpiece, the “Taipei Map.”
In an era where ideas transcend borders and innovation knows no bounds, Zeczec stands poised to be a beacon for creators and innovators worldwide. Its trajectory suggests not just growth in numbers, but an evolution in how ideas are funded, nurtured, and brought to life on the global stage.
