“It used to be no place for international students at the job fair,” said Johnny Wu, head of global relations at NTU, “we create more opportunities for them and also for Taiwan’s businesses.”
Lots of startups that participated in the event are in different industries. For example, one of the startups Ubiik is a global IoT total solution provider specializing in communication technology. Embracing an international culture, the startup has executives from France and other countries and has established a solid customer base in Japan, India, Europe, and the United States. The startup booth caught the attention of international student Kuntal Barman, who is now in the Ph.D. program in electrical engineering. “It’s a very good event, where you can get to know more Taiwanese companies and what they are doing,” said Barman. He got job offers from top IC design houses in Taiwan.

International talents not only could get to know more startups at the job fair but also gain access to matching platforms. CakeResume, a global talent platform, has now over 5,000 companies including Google, AWS, and IBM on their websites looking for employees. The 4-million-user platform also opens job opportunities for international talents, so as to develop business at a global scale. Moreover, the company provides services for students like polishing their resume and career consultancy, further empowering talents to seek jobs in Taiwan.
