Worca raised USD$ 1.5M seed fund, aims to bridge Taiwanese talents with the US tech companies

Worca, which provides integrated HR solutions for the US tech companies to hire remote engineering talents efficiently, has closed USD$ 1.5M seed fund. The investors include Mucker Capital, Hyphen Capital, and Gaingels. The fund will help Worca to accelerate the expansion of Asia-Pacific region.

Worca is formerly known as MVP fastlance’s engineers recruiting business. But during the Covid-19 pandemic, the co-founders Ti-Wen Lin and Jack Wu noticed that there was a strong need for recruiting remote engineering talents for the US’s tech companies. “The tech companies come for help to find engineers just skyrocketed. Noticing this strong demand, Jack and I spilled talent recruiting business off from MVP Fastlane and established Worca immediately,” said Ti-Wen, co-founder and CEO of Worca.

“Taiwan's talent is exceptional. We are the few headhunters that could bridge demand from US-based tech companies and the talent supply from Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam" said Jack Wu, co-founder and COO at Worca.

Worca platform helps you hire global talents effortlessly

In the post-covid era, working environments have changed tremendously. Companies started to hire more and more remote workers, and some even work from other countries. To catch up with the trend, Worca developed a SaaS one-stop destination platform to facilitate rapid hiring and onboarding of top talent, along with seamless integration of payroll, legal compliance, benefits, and other human resources functions.

Worca’s SaaS platform features automated HR processes that enable clients to staff up with elite engineers and other tech professionals who will ensure that their businesses can successfully launch, grow and thrive. Its streamlined process lets clients build a global team at a speed with retention rates as high as 96%.

For example, Worca recently helped a large U.S. tech company build a sizable product team in Taiwan in advance of an IPO. The company was working with a tight budget and strict timeline.

Worca’s team of experts quickly reached out to its network of recent and soon-to-be engineering graduates from top schools as well as experienced engineers looking for professional advancement or a change of scenery. Worca was able to hire 10 engineers per month on average and help to built a team of over 100 new hires.

Ti-Wen coined a unique strategy, Network Effect, which connects the elite talent and startups together. It shows that during the COVID-19, cross-border workers are still in high demand and Worca plays an important role to bridge the gap.

“We were pleased to support businesses in building capable and successful teams using our automated global talent management platform,” said Ti-Wen. “When they need to grow further, our easily scalable solutions help match them with the right talent for their next phase.”

While planning its expansion into Southeast Asia, South America and Europe, Worca will maintain its original primary recruiting base in Taiwan. They aim to be the largest recruiting platform in the Greater Southeast Asia region.
