為使通訊產業導入創意與人才活水，經濟部工業局於2002年起開始辦理Mobileheroes通訊大賽，目的在於放眼未來，將校園及社群能量導入通訊產業，吸引優秀青年投入創新產業研發設計工作，近年更已從校園競賽茁壯為產業競賽。通訊大賽逐年根據產業發展脈動訂定競賽主題，獎金、評審、業師等均來自產業界，並邀請業界先進與優秀參賽者互動交流，以期通訊大賽產出的作品可進一步接軌業界實際需求。舉辦至今，通訊大賽也已為產業發掘超過萬名結合硬體、軟體、服務能量的跨界人才與創意。

聯網未來挑戰賽(5月22日報名截止)
需為聯網應用,並運用資通訊技術、結合智慧終端裝置或人工智慧發展之創新應用產品/服務：
ㆍ消費者行動數位生活(食衣住行)之應用
ㆍAR/R數位內容對中小企業的應用
ㆍ3D人體建模的應用
ㆍ於交通或觀光類的感測與應用
ㆍ智慧穿戴
ㆍ5G於遠距露療/遠距會診相關應用
ㆍ5G 於赛事應用
ㆍ5G低延遲技術對製造業的應用
ㆍ4K/8K影像應用
Connectivity Innovation Awards(5月22日報名截止)
We are looking for solutions that will make our city a better place! Solutions related to smart transportation, smart governance, smart agriculture, smart healthcare, smart education, smart retail, smart tourism etc. are all welcome.
After our interviews with top-notch ICT companies in Taiwan, we found that there are particular interests in the following topics:
1.Mobile digital solutions for consumers’ everyday life provided by diverse services AR (augmented reality) or VR (virtual reality) content.
2.Using 5G technology, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence or Internet of Things related innovative solutions, such as Smart Manufacturing, Smart Retail, SME Solutions etc. to develop solutions for upstream and downstream integration and business cooperation.
3.Smart wearable applications/ devices
4.Application of drones in transportations and communications inspection (for example: roads and bridges)
5G多天線系統創新設計競賽(7月8日報名截止)
為鼓勵創新研發概念，分為實作賽及創意賽兩類：
1.實作賽：著重天線系統設計實作，須繳交天線作品，並提供量測結果(含:S參數、天線效率等)。
2.創意賽：以創新研發概念為主，鼓勵參賽隊伍提出創新研發概念，繳交設計構想書(須含模擬驗證數據)
5G領航應用創新競賽(7月15日報名截止)
因應2020台灣邁入5G元年，本競賽以發展5G特定領域解決方案為主軸。
聚焦於展演、遊戲、交通、製造、運動五大垂直領域。
需結合5G通訊技術特性，並屬於上述五大應用領域，發展創新產品與構想。
本競賽以「實作組」及「概念組」之雙軌賽制進行：
實作組
延續通訊大賽辦理傳統，著重研發實作，需實際繳交作品原型，並於5G實驗場域進行驗證(如：工業局digiBlock，或其他經評審團同意之實驗環境)。
概念組
激發5G創新應用發展情境，著重創新構想，參賽隊伍需按大會提供之提案格式繳交概念企畫提案，以利後續評分。
